Crater Lake National Park

Crater Lake National Park

The Summer View of Crater Lake.

Crosscountry Skiing

-Crater Lake was formed by a large volcanic eruption and the emptying of magma, due to loss of magma inside the volcano it cannot hold itself up and it forms a crater, which was then filled by water and made a lake
-Before it was a crater it was called Mount Mazama
Crater Lakes view in the Winter.

-It is believed that it took around 400,000 years for Mount Mazama to build up but around 5700 BC it collapsed and turned into Crater lake which is located in Oregon and was discovered 1853 by John Wessly Hillman who before called it Deep Blue Lake because of how blue the water was Another Summer View
-Since its not a natural lake it has no streams or rivers running in or out of it, but since its a depression snow and rain run into it and thats how Crater Lake gets its water supply

The Boat Around Wizard Island

Biking Around The Top
-In Crater Lake you can take a boat on the surface of the lake, drive around the edge, go rock climbing on some of the mountains that reach over 8,000 feet, camp at Mazama Village, or stay at the historic lodge

Another Great Winter View
-In the winter there is crosscountry skiing and snowshoeing in certian areas
-The island in the middle by where the boat trip goes around is called Wizard Island, you can look at it up close as you take a boat trip around the lake and see all of the park itself
-Theres also the animals. There are so many animals to find in Crater Lake National Park.
The Summer ranges from Black Bear, Elk, and even Bald Eagle
